Westhills Construction Update

Please be advised that construction of the Willows Phase 3A is expected to commence the week of July 24, 2023. A construction access directly off Cartwright Street prior to the curve and away from the residential properties will be constructed such that construction traffic will not have to travel through the existing community. Access to the community will not be restricted during this period of construction.

Part of construction, however, will involve excavating and rebuilding a significant portion of the intersection of Cartwright Street and Cartwright Terrace to tie in the sanitary sewer and water mains for the new development to the west. Local traffic to 201 and 301 Cartwright Terrace will be maintained south towards the roundabout with traffic restricted north and west to Lorne Avenue for a period of two to three weeks.

Part of the intersection construction will also include the installation of a temporary overland water line to continue service to 201 and 301 Cartwright Terrace as the water main in the street will have to be turned off for the duration of construction. The water quality will not be affected during this time.

The date for the closure is still to be determined but will occur at some point in August. Further notice will be provided.
